We are creatures of habits - not just in how we like a coffee, also how we habitually respond from the place inside of us that identifies with the need to feel ‘safe’.
The Universe seems to have a way of tapping us on the shoulder periodically, inviting us to question our minds, our hearts, and our beliefs, to be in service to reveal our Truth. And then comes the whack on the side of the head that pushes you to do so! The Ego gets activated into fight or flight mode, where we may respond from the way we’ve always done things in the past, the patterns of thinking repeat, and we react and treat ourselves and others from habitual ‘survival’ tactics.
The invitation at this accelerated time of growth, is to get curious about how we respond, the 'why' behind it and if it still serves us to do it that way? Neither is right or wrong, however, if the ‘taps’ are becoming ‘pushes’ in the school of life, becoming clear about why we respond a certain way and questioning that, can assist us to course-correct our reactions to reactions that are more aligned from a place of loving and compassion - not from panic, blame or old patterning.
We are being asked to shift some pretty big energies lately, ones that aren’t necessarily just ours - conditioning that has been built over centuries by the institutions that govern us. Therefore as personal as it may feel, give yourself some self acknowledgments around processing ways of being that are no longer serving you and/or the collective whole. When we recognize our responses, question them, get clear with our intentions, and realign with our truest nature - the by-product is an evolution that not only enables us to respond with more compassion, love, and understanding to others but we also get to respond to ourselves that way first too! Get curious. Get clear. Today, I get to choose differently. Our power is in the pause of choices. Be brave enough to choose a different response.
“It’s my intention to be curious about my thinking when I’m being activated to respond to a situation that feels familiar in nature. To question if the ways in which I’ve reacted in the past are still serving me for the highest good for all concerned today. To seek a way within myself that feels self-honoring, heart-centered, and loving, knowing that all that is being activated is welcome and lovable. And to give myself permission to take action that feels in alignment with what’s true, from a place of love, compassion, and peace, instead of from the place of habit.”
We can all identify with the habits we have, as it’s been termed for years; that we ARE creatures of habit. Some have a positive & peaceful outcome, others are from a place driven to restore a very real need to be safe - the fight or flight response kicks in often with little to no pause. It can feel stifling, panicked, AND familiar. It’s how you’ve always reacted in the past and it has gotten you through - you’ve survived, it worked. You may get activated into ‘fix-it’ mode, or you may slump into intense feelings that seem too much to bear. Recognize that these are both coping mechanisms that you’ve adopted and used time and time again AND it could be a strategy that you use to distract yourself from a more effective opportunity. So the Universe activates this, again and again, to invite you to get clear about how you can consciously choose to respond to the challenges. From a familiar, habit-forming, survival mode, OR in the curiosity of why you do it that way, and if it still serves you to do so. Get curious. Get clear. And know this is a time for accelerated inner awareness and an opportunity to be operating from a place that is willing to be brave and try a different response.
