This week, make some time to Increase Your Circulation. Does something feel stuck in your life? Did you start off the year with great motivation, only to find yourself stuck in old patterns? Healthy circulation includes both giving and receiving – and more often than not, it is fear that causes blocks in our ability to freely give (or let go) and receive in life. One great way to get unstuck is to activate the Principle of Circulation in some aspect of your life. Here are some examples to consider:
- Clean out a junk drawer; give away a bag of clothes/shoes that have not been in circulation for a while. Anything that hasn’t been used in a while contributes to stagnant energy in our lives.
- Is there something that you have been withholding in your relationship? Unexpressed feelings and unfulfilled needs create a drain on our energy and very often result in the unhealthy “circulation” of anger, resentment, or criticism.
- If you are feeling financial scarcity, put a small amount of cash into circulation - and be sure to have fun doing it! Surprise a friend with some fresh flowers, send a thoughtful card to an elderly relative, buy a cup of coffee for the person in line behind you, or secretly leave $2.00 in coins on a co-worker's desk in the shape of a small heart. Rather than putting fear into circulation when writing your monthly bills, practice feeling gratitude as you write out your checks – write “Thank You!” enthusiastically on the memo line (imagine the response of the clerk at your electric company!)
- Identify a limiting belief that has kept you stuck in the past, and put it into circulation by committing to let it go. Write it down, burn it, and/or take it to the river to be carried away.
- Expressing appreciation is a powerful (and inexpensive!) way to increase healthy circulation in your life. For the next 7 days, express your genuine appreciation to at least 3 people a day and watch the positive energy begin to flow.
- Grab a friend and take a 20-minute “power walk,” getting your blood, oxygen, and friendly-fun flowing again!
Increasing the circulation in any area of your life can affect the healthy circulation in all areas of your life. Nothing in the natural world thrives if circulation is hindered, including us. This week, take a baby step and get unstuck – it’s also a great way to be of service!
